Good morning with a word for the day-
Luke 4:1-13 tells the story of Jesus being tempted by Satan when Jesus came out of the wilderness. There He was tempted in three different areas of life: the lust of the flesh, the eyes, and the pride of life.
There will always be three temptations in your life. Those temptations have not and will not change. Satan tempted Adam and Eve with the tree of life. The tree of life was good for food, pleasing to the eyes, and would fulfill one's desire to be wise. If we can recognize those three temptations when they are presented to us, then we can live an overcoming life. How do we overcome those three things? Just as Jesus did; He quoted the Word. He did not argue or give room for negotiation, He just said, 'It is written.'
Our greatest weapon is recognition. Jesus was not trapped by Satan's tricks, because He recognized the trap. Too many times we don't recognize the trap so we are snared by Satan. It's not enough to know the Word. The Word not used is useless. We have to ask God to give us a great power of decrement. To discern what's happening and what's going on. Then when we are quickened by the Spirit, we apply the Word of God.
A simple 'get thee behind me Satan' will work everytime. Instead of trying to work our way out of trouble, it's best to stay out of trouble.
