Good morning with a word for the day-
Isaiah 54:17 says, "No weapon form against you shall prosper."
Too many times we read this verse and never look at the content of it. Isaiah 54:17 makes two promises. Even though this scripture is a promise to the Jews, we see it used so many times to encourage the Church or Christians. First we must know there will be weapons that will rise up and be used against you. It's impossible to live the Christian life and have no difficulties. Weapons are used by one's adversaries to discourage and disappoint one in their daily life. They are also used to postpone something that one has set their heart toward. Such as a calling or the surrendering over something that has been holding one back from achieving one's personal goal. The areas which that weapon will be used can range from the mind, heart, soul, and/or the strength of that individual.
The second part of Isaiah 54:17 says, 'it will not prosper.' Yes the Christian life is always under attack, and yes it seems to be never ending. But when I am in Christ Jesus, no weapon shall be able to say I have had victory over that child of God, not even death. Paul writes in I Corinthians 15:55-57, "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" Then Paul gives answers to his own questions. He says in verse 57, "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
One day there will be a weapon that will rise up against us: the weapon of death. Those outside of Christ, it may seem that we have been defeated, but our victory has already taken place. It happened in a twinkling of an eye. In that moment of time when the greatest weapon known to man had it's last and final attempt to have victory over a child of God.
My victory for life was not just a promise for here today, but a promise of victory forever more.
