Good morning with a word for the day-
James 1:2 says, "My breath, count it all joy."
There's no hiding the fact that the book of James is the most practical book within the new testament. To sum up the book of James in just a few words it would sound something like this: Don't tell me about your accomplishments, show me.
James says the more you walk, the less you have to talk. James cuts the meat off the bone and leaves you with nothing but the bone. Sometimes I believe that we spend too much time trying to convince either others or ourselves about our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ rather than spending that time of winning the lost to the same relationship with Christ Jesus that we have.
A new year is just around the corner. Why not spend the new year winning the lost instead of trying to convince ourselves or others that we have a relationship with Christ. James was in doubt, until he was challenged to settle that doubt with indisputable evidence. From that point on James never worried about his relationship but encouraged others to believe in Christ. When we hear ourselves talk about our relationship with Christ Jesus, that itself could be an indicator of our own lack of self confidence in that relationship. Either I am or I am not. Either I am walking the walk or I am not. And if I am then I can spend more time talking to others about their trials, doubts, or failures, rather than telling others about my accomplishments. No one needs to know what you have done; they need to see what God has accomplished through you.
Words fade when you leave, but the actions of those words will live long after you are gone.
