Good morning with a word for the day -
And there shall be a day. Job 1:6 says, “Now there was a day...”
And there shall be a day. Job 1:6 says, “Now there was a day...”
What was Satan doing in the presence of God? That question has been asked throughout history. If we read the next few verses, I think we can find the answer. He was there to attack the character of a Godly man. Remember this today: No Godly character, no attack. Please do not be confused; many today blame the devil for their own bad decisions. If you are making bad life decisions, then that's not an attack, but the result of your own bad decisions. Every decision has a blessing or a curse attached to it. Good decisions make good things happen, and bad decisions make bad things happen. Paul said in Ephesians 6:12, “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood.” He says our war is spiritual. Ephesians 6 comes after Ephesians 5, where he lays out the evidence of just plain bad decision making, living in the flesh and not in the spirit. I preached a sermon one time and the title was: “Things You Do Not Have to Pray About.” We should not have to pray about what's going wrong in our lives. If we are living out our faith daily, working out our salvation daily, and serving God daily with everything we have, then when things are going wrong you’re under a spiritual attack. Satan is attacking your character as he attacked Job's character. But, if you’re not being attacked, then you have your answer. Satan does not waste his time on something that he cannot detect; if he sees no Godly character then he will just leave you to yourself, knowing you are your own worst enemy.
Job's Godly character was under attack because it could be seen by everyone; even God.
Job 1:6-12
