Good morning with a word for the day-
Job 1:1, “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job.”
The first five verses of the book of Job tell a story of all that Job had in his life, and owned.
Have you listened to your testimony about your relationship with Christ Jesus, lately? For years I have listened to the testimonies of those who tell me about “all that God has given them.” My question is, where are the Jobs today?
Just a few verses later, this man, who had more than anyone, found himself without anything. And when I say nothing, he had nothing. Too often we build our relationship with the Lord Jesus around what He has given us, instead of what He did. Time and time again, I hear this type of testimony: “Brother how you are doing? Oh God has blessed me,” and then the list starts. We have built shrines and places of worship from the things of God, instead of God Himself. Ask yourself a question: If you became a Job tomorrow,
where would God stand? Could you, or would you, be able to still praise God for the "thing" you have, instead of the "things" you have? Now, so many would say, “Oh yes, I would.” But would you, then? Until you know, the answer about your relationship with Christ Jesus will still be in the things, and not the Person.
Job passed the test, but only after he was put through the test.
God bless.
