Word for the Day

Good morning with a word for the day-
Paul says in 2 Corinthians 13:5, ‘Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.’
If we would spend more time proving ourselves, we would find we have less time to examine others.
How do I know that what I am doing is of the faith? I am glad you asked. Just examine the evidence. Is gossip of God? Is backbiting of God? Is plastering your opinion all over Facebook about something or someone else of God? Is bitterness of God? Is hatred of God? Is unforgiveness of God? Let's just get real, is church hopping of God? Is lying of God? It's not hard to tell that if the scale is tipped toward ungodliness, then it must also be tipped in favor of  unrighteousness, and the Bible calls us not to have any part of unrighteousness. These principles can be applied, also, if I come under attack by others who say they are of the faith. All I need to do is weigh the evidence against what the Bible says my faith is to do and not do. If I examine myself and find I have wronged, then I must repent. If I examine the evidence and find it without merits and ungodly, then I am to pray for those who seemed to have strayed from the faith. It all comes down to the evidence: Righteous or unrighteous.
Spend more time looking at yourself. You will find that you have enough work to do there than somewhere else.
