Word for the Day

Good morning with a word for the day -
1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, ‘Pray without ceasing.’
Prayer is one of the least used tools we have as Christians. Normally, we only get serious in prayer when we are in serious trouble. But if we would stay in prayer we would find that we are not in trouble as often as we are. John 14:14 says, ‘If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.’ Does that mean we can just ask for a million dollars? Or a brand new car that we cannot afford? No! It means to ask for the things of God, like our daily needs, daily cleansing, or to repair the things I have damaged, like relationships. Ask for wisdom. Perhaps it’s what to do about a decision that presented itself, or what part I should play in someone else's decisions or troubles.
Jesus called broken relationships a debt unto us. In Matthew 6:12 He said, ‘Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.’
We have temptations every day. Jesus said to ask not to be led into temptations that we are not strong enough to overcome. Asking God to keep those temptations that we are not ready to handle, learn from, and overcome should be a daily request. Then know that whatever God allowed into our lives, He knew we were able to handle.
Jesus said in prayer, ‘Ask anything.’ Too often we are asking amiss, meaning, we are asking for things that God is not willing to do or give us at that time.
James 1:5 says, ‘If any of you lacks wisdom, let Him ask of God.’ Listen to your prayers when you pray. If you’re not asking God for some sort of wisdom about something, then don't be surprised if God doesn't answer.
James 4:1-3 says, ‘Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for your pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss.’
Pray differently today.
