Good morning with a word for the day-
There is nothing like a good cry.
I believe that crying is God's natural reset button. In Psalm 17:1 David says, ‘Hear a just cause, O LORD, attend to my cry.’ Tears cleanse the heart of it's troubles, fears, anxiety, doubt and cares. They wash away hurt and failures. They don't really change anything, the troubles and circumstances will still be there, but they reset one’s emotions.
David said God looks for a broken heart. A broken heart will shed tears. Those tears could be because of a failure, or something someone did or said. Crying out to God is the only answer. Someone asked me what do you do about depression? My answer was- PRAY. Prayer is the only antidote that works for a Christian. Doctors, pills, or psychiatrists cannot cure you like a good old cry before God. At church the other night, at the altar, I cried uncontrollably. Everyone thought something was wrong, but everything was right. My heart just needed to have a good cleaning, and a reset. David said in Psalm 17:1, ‘Give ear to my prayer which is not from deceitful lips.’ Tears reveal a brokenness that God recognizes. Tears say, ‘Lord I need you to reset my heart, mind, spirit, and soul back into your will.’
Never be afraid to get before the Lord and pray until you cry. But, be very afraid of never shedding a tear.
There is nothing like a good cry.
