Good morning with a word for the day-
Habakkuk was a man under the stress of failure. He just could not understand why God would allow the people of Judah to get by with their immoral ways.
In Habakkuk 1:1-4 he did nothing but complain. But you will notice God was silent. God never works from the view of a complainer. Habakkuk was God's man for the hour; he was the leader God had chosen. But God had to work on His leader first. God did finally answer His leader, but it was not as Habakkuk expected. God showed him a vision of the on coming judgement that He had been preparing for a long time.
What we can learn from Habakkuk as leaders is this: God never minds His leaders asking questions, but He does not answer complainers. A complainer is no more than an accuser. Secondly we must know that God is a sovereign God. He is never unaware, out of control, or even caught by surprise. God showed his leader the coming judgement that He had already prepared.
We as leaders must never lose our focus on the sovereignty of Almighty God. God has called us to proclaim the goodness of God with boldness and confidence. If we get accused of being too harsh or unloving, we must know that we have been placed upon a wall as watchmen. And it will be the watchman who will be held accountable for the sounding of the alarm.
Just as Habakkuk, we have been shown through the book of Revelation the coming judgement. The alarm is to be sounded loud and clear with no hesitation or fear. It's not ours to question why things are the way they are, but only to sound the alarm of the coming judgement.
Habakkuk 1:1-17
