Good morning with a word for the day-
Good leaders take the ‘101 principle.’
I Corinthians was Paul’s first letter to a church that had troubles. But Paul, being who he was, took a totally different view of this church than the church had of itself. The church knew it had problems, but Paul applied the ‘101 principle.’ He encouraged the church to focus on one thing it was good at. Then, he encouraged each member to focus on one thing they were good at and give that ‘1’ thing 100%.
We tend to spread ourselves too thin, and try to be good at too many things. Then, confusion, discouragement, and discontentment set in. God's Word never tells us to be good at everything. It just teaches us to do our best, and always love the Lord your God with all you have. It's the greatest commandment of all. Leaders always try to bring out the best in a person or a church. They try to see what God is doing in a person, or the church, as a whole, and join them in the venture. If a person were spread too thin, it would cause them to lose focus, and waste energy, and time. To influence a church or a person to be good at one thing and then give that one thing 100% would build confidence and boldness.
The Bible says, ‘No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to one and despise the other.’ This is the ‘101 principle’ repeated in a different manner.
Stop, sit down, find out what God wants you to focus on, and where God wants you, then give it 100%.
See then what God is really doing.
1 Corinthians 12:18
