Word of the Day

Good morning with a word for the day-
2 Kings 3:18 says, ‘And this is but a light (small) thing in the sight of the Lord.’
The kings of Israel, Judah, Edom, and their armies had gone out to war against their enemies, the Moabites. They found themselves in the desert running low on water for themselves and their livestock. They sent for Elisha to ask God for help and they received even more than they asked for.
Sometimes in our troubles, we are short-sighted. The kings were asking for something they needed immediately, but God saw the bigger picture. Not only did He give them water, but also a promise and instructions for the future. He said you’re asking for something small, why don't you believe in the bigger picture? Too many times, even before the battles begin in our lives, we don’t ask God for the victory. We ask for the small thing, the ability to fight the battle.
Wherever you are stop right now. If it's at the beginning of a struggle, you have been struggling for a while, or maybe you just got out of one, stop and thank God for the victory. Stop asking for the strength to fight, but for the victory that has already been given to you. God said, water, well that's a small thing. I will not only give you water but I will give to you the victory of the battle that has not even been fought yet. And God said I will tell you what to do to keep from having to fight the same enemy again. God never sees where you are, but where He wants you to be.
Isaiah 54:17 says, ‘No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn.’
It's a small thing to see the battle at hand and listen to the wagging tongues, but the greater picture is to see the One who fights my battles.
