Good morning with a word for the day-
2 Timothy 4:7 says, ‘I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.’
2 Timothy 4:7 says, ‘I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.’
This is how we remember the great apostle Paul: He was a man of power, strength, courage, proclamation, and a defender of the full gospel. One who stood before kings and in temples, he preached Jesus everywhere he was given chance and opportunity.
Remember, just a few chapters back in Acts 28:30-31, we see not a different Paul but a different perspective from this great apostle. We find this great man of God dwelling in a humble setting, not traveling and on mission trips, standing before kings, but awaiting execution. It was a life without any glamour or even dreams and future expectations. But, rest assured it's still the same Paul. This testimony is written in the last few verses of the book of Acts. It's the race of faith which he so passionately wrote about in 2 Timothy. He is saying I have given my faith all that I had, all that I could, and all that it deserved. I ran as far as I can, now all I can do is stand and wait in my faith. As Paul’s life came to a finish, scripture says he was preaching the Kingdom of God and teaching the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence.
It's never about how you start, but how you finish what you start. When your faith is fully supported during the race up to the finish, then you can have the confidence Paul wrote with: I have given my faith all I have, now I wait until my faith is fully revealed.
Faith not finished is the same as having no faith. Run and finish well what was started.
